A nature scavenger-hunt app that turns family walks into something kids actually want to do. Generates an age-appropriate hunt for the environment you're in: things to spot, listen for, count, or do. No accounts, no ads, works offline. Built solo with Claude Code on top of the Sunlight design system. Live on the App Store and Google Play.

Winter can feel relentless when you lose touch with daylight, especially if you're prone to SAD. Sunlight tracks sunrise, sunset, dawn, and dusk for anywhere on Earth, with home screen widgets and daily notifications so you can follow the light coming back through the year. Works offline, tracks moon phases too. Available on the App Store and Google Play.

I wanted a simple, ad-free loyalty card wallet. Every option on the app stores is either loaded with ads, requires an account, or tracks you. Card Stash is local-first, encrypted, and offline-only. Point the camera at a card and it extracts the number, expiry, and issuer in real time. Expiry reminders mean my National Trust membership never lapses again.

Every article I publish needs the same image at five different sizes (hero, OG card, LinkedIn, thumbnail), and most online tools upload your images to their servers. Drag an image in, get every size exported as WebP or AVIF in one go. Nothing leaves your browser.
EPS files are a pain: most online converters upload your artwork to their servers, and they usually flatten transparency onto a white background. This runs a full Ghostscript engine, compiled to WebAssembly, right in the browser. Drop an EPS in, pick a resolution, and get a transparent PNG back. Nothing leaves your machine.
Some of my friends fall into the 60% tax trap, and I wanted to help them work out options to optimise opportunities to redistribute their earnings. This models the full picture for 2025/26 through to 2027/28: pension contributions, salary sacrifice, benefits in kind, and student loans, with strategies to soften the trap between £100k and £125k and a bonus planner that compares cash, bonus sacrifice, and SIPP options.
Book deals are deliberately opaque. Advances, escalators, high-discount clauses, agent commission, and four or five formats all tangle together, and authors rarely see what they'll actually earn. Set up the full deal across hardback, paperback, audio, and D2C, and see advance recoupment and net author earnings clearly. Export to CSV for your accountant.

Keeping the Sunlight app visually consistent across iOS and Android meant the design tokens needed to live somewhere I could see them change. A browsable reference for every colour, type style, spacing value, and component, with a live dark/light toggle to check contrast in both modes.

I wanted to see the shape of a whole year of daylight at a glance, not just today's times. Scrub the slider through the seasons on a circular dial and watch dawn and dusk wrap around the year, with solstice markers and moon phases overlaid. This was the prototype that became the Sunlight app.
